Tanjia Restaurant


Tanjiacai cuisine was created by a local official Tan Zongjun in the late Qing Dynasty(1644-1911). It is a fusion of Cantonese styles using Northern Chinese ingredients particularly dried seafood to create a style and taste like no other. The Beijing Hotel holds the “Patent” for Tanjiacai and is therefore the only place allowed to serve these special dishes.
